FAQ
1.
Paint- Cans with
wet paint can be disposed at the Convenience Center. The
paint should have dirt, kitty liter, or saw dust placed in
them to help solidify the wet paint before they are
deposited in the open top box. A paint hardener can be
purchased at the local hardware stores to help speed up this
process.
2.
Tree Limbs and Yard Waste-
These items may be brought to the Convenience Center for
disposal. We have a tree pile that you place your items in
and then once or twice a year we grind up the waste into
mulch and give it away to the public.
3.
Appliances
(Refrigerator, stoves, washers, dryers, freezers and any
other appliances) These items may be brought to the
Convenience Center and placed in our barn for recycling.
4.
Metal- We
accept all types of metal. We have a metal pile where you
place the metal. The metal is then recycled.
5.
Televisions- We
accept all types of televisions at the Convenience Center.
Currently we do not recycle the televisions but plan to do
so in the future.
6.
Computers- We
accept all computers and computer related equipment.
Currently we do not recycle them, but plan to do so in the
future.
7.
We just moved to Shelby County-
Please fold or break down all your moving boxes and take
them to our Recycling Center. Our Recycling Center, located
at 86 N. 7th Street, is open Tuesday thru Saturday 8:00a.m.
till 4:20p.m.

Other
items that may be brought to the recycling center are
aluminum cans, newspapers, junk mail, ink cartridges, glass,
steel cans, cell phones and small batteries.
8.
Batteries- (car,
truck, tractor and lawn mower) Each of these type of
batteries may be brought to the Convenience Center.
