HEINSVILLE ROAD RESURFACING BID ACCEPTED
September
18, 2007
The
Shelby County Judge-Executive Rob Rothenburger announced
that the Shelby County Fiscal Court has accepted the low bid
from Shelbyville Asphalt Company to Resurface Heinsville
Road at $42.13 per ton.
There
will be approximately 1065 tons required to complete the
resurfacing of Heinsville Road, total estimate of
$44,868.45.
Shelby
County Judge Executive Rob Rothenburger stated that "In
order to facilitate the project the
Road Department has been working to prepare the road by extending pipes, replacing pipes in bad condition, and performing
necessary ditching operations."
In order to determine if Heinsville Road was indeed ready to
be resurfaced, the age of its last resurfacing was
determined, in addition to Carl Henry, Road Supervisor,
physically inspecting the roadway's condition to determine
if it does in fact need repair. It was determined that
Heinsville Road has not been resurfaced since 1991, and was
in fact ready to be resurfaced.
Shelby
County Road Supervisor Carl Henry estimates the resurfacing
project to be completed by late fall.
