Nancye Hawkins Retires from the County Clerk’s Office
January 3, 2007
SHELBYVILLE, Ky. The coming of the New Year is sure to
bring about new excitement for many people in Shelby County, but
for Nancye Hawkins, Shelby County Deputy County Clerk, the
coming of the New Year welcomed her newfound retirement! In a
ceremony held at the Stratton Community Center, Friday, December
28th dozens of people gathered to celebrate Hawkins’
27 years of dedicated service to the County Clerk’s Office.
Hawkins’ started her service with the County Clerk’s office
October 1, 1980 and continually proved to be a role-model
employee throughout her career. Shelby County Judge Executive
Rob Rothenburger stated “Nancy has demonstrated professionalism,
dedication, and courtesy to her job for over two and a half
decades, and will be truly missed by hundreds of individuals who
frequent the Clerk’s Office each year.”
Hawkins’ received the 110% award at the 2007 Shelby County
Fiscal Court Service Award’s Banquet. The award was presented by
County Clerk Sue Carole Perry, commending Hawkins’ for the
wonderful job she has done throughout her career. Perry
reflected on Hawkins' retirement, “Nancye
was a good and faithful employee dedicated to serving the
public. It is a bittersweet time for me and this office. We are
so sad to see her go and at the same time so happy for her.
She of will be sorely missed.”
Hawkins’ told everyone in attendance at her retirement party
that she plans to spend her time caring for and spending quality
time with her Granddaughter Kaitlin.
