Proclamation
To All To Whom These Presents Shall Come:
WHEREAS,
Severe storms can strike at any time in
Kentucky; and
WHEREAS,
Causing extensive and long lasting effects upon
Kentuckians, severe storms impact personal
lives, the social structure, and the economy on
both the local and state levels; and
WHEREAS,
The Kentucky Division of Emergency Management (KyEM)
and Shelby County EMA are charged with the
responsibility of preparing Kentucky and Shelby
County for all forms of natural disasters,
including severe storms; and
WHEREAS,
It is appropriate that the Kentucky Division of
Emergency Management and Shelby County EMA
should cooperate with other local, state and
federal government agencies, The National
Weather Service, The Kentucky Weather
Preparedness Committee, and private corporations
to prepare the citizens of the Commonwealth and
Shelby County for severe storms;
NOW, THEREFORE, I, ROB ROTHENBURGER, Shelby
County Judge Executive, do hereby proclaim
March 2011
as
SEVERE STORMS PREPAREDNESS MONTH
in Shelby County,
and urge all public and private institutions, as
well as citizens throughout Shelby County, to
take notice of this observance and to take
necessary actions to prepare and protect our
citizens and property, which could be threatened
as a result of severe storms.
