Fiscal Court Donates Surplus Property to
Shelby County Area Technology Center
June 11, 2008
SHELBYVILLE, KY. Shelby
County Judge/Executive Rob Rothenburger announces the
decision of the fiscal court to donate its 1989 Crown
Victoria automobile, previously deemed surplus property, to
the Shelby County Area Technology Center.
The functioning vehicle
will be utilized in the Auto Mechanics Class available to
students attending the Area Technology Center to allow for
hands-on lessons and enhance the quality of learning for
students. Students will proceed to completely disassemble
the car and then rebuild it. Through this detailed
assignment students will better understand all parts of a
vehicle and how they correlate with each other.
Rothenburger states, “It is
essential for the students to receive equipment in a cost
effective manor that allows them to begin their education
from the very basics to the advanced levels. Shelby County
Fiscal Court is pleased to be a part of this educational
experience and be a part of the Shelby County Area
Technology Center’s future auto mechanics.”
