Office of the Shelby County Judge-Executive
Shelby County
Fiscal Court
News Release
September 15, 2011
Various County Roads to be Re-surfaced
SHELBYVILLE, KY-
Shelby County Road Supervisor Carl Henry presented
the Fiscal Court with bid results for his upcoming
road improvement projects on Arlington Drive, Doss
Lane, Ardmore Lane, and Trenton Court. Following
Henry’s recommendation, Fiscal Court accepted the
low bid of $58.46 per ton from Shelbyville Asphalt.
The roadway
repaving is the final step of the overall process in
which sanitary sewers were installed on the
aforementioned streets requiring the resurfacing.
In other action,
the Fiscal Court unanimously approved a Change Work
Order that would add the re-surfacing of Trenton
Court to the contract.
Henry anticipates
an estimated 1,200 tons of asphalt will be needed to
complete the re-surfacing projects.
Henry stated that
the roadwork is scheduled to begin within 30 days
and residents should see only minor delays as a
result of the repaving process.
