Kathy Ranard Named

2010 Shelby County Fiscal Court Employee of the Year

SHELBYVILLE, KY. Nominated by her peers and chosen among other nominees, Kathy Ranard nabbed this year’s top honor at the Shelby County Fiscal Court Annual Employee Banquet held at Claudia Sanders Dinner House.

Magistrate Hubert Pollett in presenting the award stated, “Kathy is the Coordinator for Shelby County’s Clean Community Program. She works hard to ensure that our roadways are litter-free, administers beautification projects, and enforces litter and nuisance ordinances throughout the county.”

In addition to her commitment to keeping our community clean, Ranard works with many community service projects including the Youth Art Show and spends time with local students and civic organizations in an effort to increase public awareness about the importance of recycling, solid waste reduction, and environmental protection.

In her 21st year of service with the Kentucky, Ranard is responsible for administering and overseeing the Litter Abatement program in Shelby County, which utilizes the assistance of Class D inmates to remove litter from county roadways.

Ranard is the 8^th county employee to receive this award which is given away annually by the Shelby County Fiscal Court.
