Phillips Appointed to Shelbyville / Shelby County Parks
and Recreation Board
SHELBYVILLE, KY.
Dickie Phillips was unanimously appointed to the
Shelbyville / Shelby County Parks and Recreation Board
following recommendation from Shelby County
Judge-Executive Rob Rothenburger at Tuesday night’s
meeting. He will fill the unexpired term of Kevin
Davis.
A retired Sergeant with
the Shelbyville Fire Department, Phillips is now
employed by Ferrell Gas Company. He is an avid
recreational horse trail rider, as well as a go-cart
enthusiast.
Rothenburger stated
that, “Dickie [Phillips] will be a great addition to the
Shelby County Parks Board. His personal interest and
knowledge of recreational horse trails will be
instrumental in the development of the trails and
amenities to the recently acquired Shelby Trails
Equestrian Park.”
The Shelbyville /
Shelby County Parks and Recreation Board presides over
all three major parks facilities including Clear Creek
Park, Red Orchard Park, Shelby Trails Park, and multiple
mini parks throughout the Shelby County area.
Phillips, his wife Pam,
and two children reside in Shelbyville, KY. His term
will commence through December 31st, 2011.
