Shelby County Applies for a Community Development Block Grant to Aid in Disaster Recovery Efforts

 

The Department for Local Government (DLG), Office of Federal Grants, has received $3.2 million through the Department of Housing and Urban Development to assist communities with long term recovery from unmet needs as a result of the 2008 disasters. Fifty-six counties, including Shelby County were included in these disasters. Shelby County intends to apply for a Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) to help aid in the recovery efforts and strengthen its emergency response agencies. The application will be made available for public review at the office of the County Judge Executive , Rob Rothenburger, 419 Washington Street, Shelbyville KY 40065 from Tuesday, September 7^th through Wednesday, September 15^th between the hours of 9:00am and 4:00pm.
