Fiscal Court Approves
Zone Change Request for Southville Property

SHELBYVILLE, KY. Shelby
County Judge-Executive Rob Rothenburger announced that
the Shelby County Fiscal Court has approved a zone
change for 54.4 ± acres on the north side and south side
of Hempridge Road approximately 3,300 feet east of the
Interchange on KY 53 (Mt. Eden Road) and Hempridge Road
from its present zoning of Agricultural to Residential
Estates in Shelby County.
The property was
currently zoned agriculture and consists of 184.4 ±
acres. On the north side of Hempridge Road the property
consists of 20.01 ± acres and all 20.01 ± acres were
requested to be rezoned residential estates. On the
South side of Hempridge Road the property consists of
162.55 ± acres and only 32.55 ± acres were requested to
be rezoned residential estates. The remaining 130 ±
acres will remain zoned agricultural. A zone change plat
was submitted providing for ten (10) lots ranging in
size from 1.00 acre to 1.52 acres and two (2) tracts
containing 17 ± acres and 153 ± acres.
On May 19, 2009, Shelby
County Triple S Planning and Zoning Commission held a
public hearing on the proposed zone change. Planning and
Zoning Commission staff recommended the zone change and
no opposition from the public was received during the
public hearing or public comment period.
