Improvement Projects
Approved for Waddy
SHELBYVILLE,KY- Shelby
County Judge-Executive Rob Rothenburger and District 6
Magistrate Tony Carriss announce that two community
improvement projects for Waddy have been approved by the
Shelby County Fiscal Court.
The first project
approved by the Fiscal Court is the restoration of 354
feet of sidewalk along KY395 (Waddy Road) south of Kings
Highway. Gra-Kat Construction was awarded the bid in the
amount of $6165.44 to remove the old walkway and
construct the new sidewalk.
The second project
approved by the Court was two fire hydrants to be
constructed on KY 395 (Waddy Road) between Interstate 64
and Fairview Drive at a cost of $5700.00. Carriss stated
in his address to the Fiscal Court on Tuesday that
property owners could “realize an annual savings of
approximately$342.00 on an example house valued at
$100,000”. The project was supported by Waddy Fire Chief
Darrell Brown who provided information that 42
residences and property owners would be affected. The
fire hydrants will be part of a water line up-grade
project sponsored by the East US 60 Water District which
is scheduled to go out for bids in the next two weeks.
