Educational Series Provided to County Employees
SHELBYVILLE, KY.
Shelby County Judge-Executive Rob Rothenburger announces
an educational series relating to the pandemic Influenza
A H1N1, also known as the Swine Flu, is being offered to
all county employees at no cost. The class educates
those in attendance on how to properly safeguard
themselves and their workplaces and how to efficiently
respond to any potential outbreaks.
The workshop is
currently being held at the Shelby County Emergency
Management Building. Class instructor Todd Early,
Shelby County EMS Deputy Director, applies his knowledge
of pandemics and airborne respiratory diseases from his
previous experience working with Jefferson County EMS,
in order to explain the cause, effect, and prevention of
the H1N1 Virus.
Judge Rothenburger
states, “It is essential that all employees have a
working knowledge of the H1N1 virus thus enabling them
to properly prepare to combat the virus should it arrive
in our area. Additionally, all departments have been
stockpiling the essential, necessary supplies that will
assist in the operation and plans that are in place.”
