Minor
League Baseball Field to Receive Lighting

County Judge Executive Rob
Rothenburger announced at its regular scheduled meeting on
Tuesday, November 20th, the Shelby County Fiscal
Court approved the Parks board’s recommendation to accept
bids from Electric City and MD Electric to provide the
lighting materials and labor for the installation of the
lighting for the Minor League baseball lighting at Clear
Creek Park.
MD Electric bid the
installation of the direct burial steel post at $34,800.00.
Electric City placed the bid for the necessary lighting
materials at $40,300.00; totally $75,100 for the complete
minor league lighting project.
“We are very pleased to
have received the Federal Land Water Grant which enables us
to erect lighting on the minor league baseball field. The
addition of this valuable asset will afford youth
participating in minor league baseball the same advantages
and field conditions as seen by older players in the upper
leagues,”stated Rothenburger.
