Facilities Maintenance

Mission Statement

To maintain all County public facilities in a manner that provides a safe and comfortable environment for both employees and visitors, and to make lasting repairs that add to the beauty, integrity, and longevity of each building while preserving it’s historical character.

County buildings & properties we are responsible for:

1. Animal shelter

2. Court house

3. Court house Annex

4. Detention Center

5. Emergency Management Building

6. EMS- All stations

7. Judge-Executive's Office

8. Road Dept.

9. Stratton Center

We also help the parks dept. with HVAC and plumbing problems whenever necessary.

Shelby County Maintenance Department

Denny Bailey, Chief of Maintenance Primary Duties: Scheduling, purchasing for, and overseeing maintenance needs for all county properties and buildings. Responsible for all the maintenance needs at the Shelby County Detention Center, including plumbing, electrical, and general maintenance.

Richard Lyon, Assistant Maintenance Chief Primary Duties: HVAC specialist for all county buildings. Performs any needed maintenance of county properties and buildings, including plumbing, electrical, and general maintenance. Also responsible for landscaping and mowing.

Carol Dawson, Custodial Services Primary Duties: Responsible for all custodial needs at the Shelby County Court House, Stratton Center, and Emergency Management building.
